About Us
We are an independent family business set in the small town of Verwood in Dorset. Most of our clients live or work in Verwood, athough we look after people from many of the neighbouring towns and villages too, and some from much farther afield who may have lived in Verwood in the past and like the continuity of service we offer.
We place high importance on the professional aspect of eyecare. Obviously all sight testing is carried out by qualified Optometrists, but unusually, all dispensing and spectacle adjustments and advice is carried out by qualified, GOC registered Dispensing Opticians - this is something of a rarity in today’s optical ‘market’ where a great deal of optical practices use unqualified ‘assistants’ rather than trained Opticians.
Although we are a modern practice as far as equipment and technology is concerned, we have been around for quite a while; our roots going back to 1958 - if you want to read about the history of Peacock and Murphy please follow this link.
